Niko Pfund
About the role, Pfund said to Publishing Perspectives, “In speaking with my future colleagues at Yale, I felt an immediate sense of kinship regarding the role of scholarship in the public sphere and the critical agency of university presses such as Yale in amplifying academic voices.
“As someone who has long followed Yale’s publications as a reader and fellow publisher, I am very much looking forward to educating myself about the Press’s operations from the inside.
“I’m also deeply grateful to my predecessor John Donatich, who has put the Press on such strong footing and whose formative legacy will be an enduring one.”
Yale President Maurie McInnis said in a statement to the Yale community. “[Niko] brings with him an immersive understanding of scholarly publishing and serious non-fiction as well as a proven track record, with experience in broadening the mandate of an academic press while abiding closely by its vital mission of contributing to a global understanding of human affairs.”
