Today (July 3), Digital Publishing Report and Publishing Perspectives have announced their partnership on this year’s digital publishing award.Publishing Perspectives joins a number of other international partners, including Publishers without Borders; the European Digital Reading Lab (EDRLab); and Rüdiger Wischenbart Content & Consulting; working with DPR to bring attention to and celebrate companies and individuals who make an impact on innovation and technology that better the international publishing industry.
The digital publishing award honors outstanding projects which publishers and media companies are using to master the digital transformation. The focus is on innovations in the field of digital publishing. The categories which will be awarded are:
- Product/Business Model: Products or services that are already on the market or will be in the near future
- Process/Technology: Back-end processes or technology that’s working to improve publishing systems, workflow, or the industry as a whole
- Start-up: Single companies or initiatives that may change the face of media
- Digital Leader(ship): Publishing professionals who are role models for a team working in technology
The panel of juurors this year includes:

- Olaf Deconinck (Publisher Consultants)
- Talita Facchini (PublishNews)
- Emma House (Publishers Without Borders, Shimmr AI)
- Nathan Hull (Beat Technology)
- Mona Klinkhardt (Ernst Klett Verlag)
- Christian Kohl (Kohl Consulting)
- Anna Lemp (Hachette France)
- Marie-Laurence de Rocher (EDRlab)
Submissions are open now, closing on August 22nd. A shortlist is expected on October 1. Winners are to be be announced in an award ceremony on October 15 at the Frankfurter Buchmesse (October 15 to 19), hosted by Erin Cox, Publisher of Publishing Perspectives.
