Deadline for Submissions: September 1
Over the last 20 years, the  Sheikh Zayed Book Award, organized by the  Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre, the department of culture and tourism in Abu Dhabi, has expanded the reach of Arabic literature and culture around the world through the annual award.

Founded in 2006, the Sheikh Zayed Book Award has awarded 136 laureates, many of whom are now considered some of the most influential figures in Arabic literature, culture, and scholarship. Through the Translation Grant program, founded in 2018, the Award has also supported the translation of 45 titles into nine languages.

Each year, authors, translators, researchers, publishers and institutions submit across ten categories, with several open to international submissions including Translation, Arab Culture in Other Languages, Editing of Arabic Manuscripts, Publishing and Technology, and Cultural Personality of the Year.

Winners of each award receive a career-changing prize of 750,000 dirhams (US$204,198), while the Cultural Personality of the Year receives one million dirhams (US$272,264).

On September 1, the submissions for the 20th anniversary edition of the award will close. You can submit your books today or nominate the Cultural Personality of the Year for a chance to be a part of the 20th-anniversary celebration.
