At Frankfurter Buchmesse (October 15 to 19) this year, the International Publishers Association (IPA) will again have a lineup of events, the majority of which are open to trade visitors during the week.

Some 129 years after its 1896 founding in Paris, the IPA’s influence has never been broader in the world publishing industry. It stands at 105 member-associations based in 84 nations and is accredited as an NGO, a non-governmental organization that has consultative relations with the United Nations.

Among its patron members are Elena Pasoli‘s Bologna Children’s Book Fair and the Philippine Book Publishing Development Federation, which of course is involved in the upcoming Guest of Honor Philippines program at Frankfurt.
