Deadline for Nominations: August 22

Last month, Publishing Perspectives announced a partnership with Digital Publishing Report (DPR) to expand the Digital Publishing Award internationally. Previously, the award was focused on the German market.

The four categories of the award are:

  • Product/Business Model: Products or services that are already on the market or will be in the near future
  • Process/Technology: Back-end processes or technology that’s working to improve publishing systems, workflow, or the industry as a whole
  • Start-up: Single companies or initiatives that may change the face of media
  • Digital Leader(ship): Publishing professionals who are role models for a team working in technology

The deadline for submissions is August 22. The only category that cannot be self-submitted is the Digital Leadership (or Digital Leader) honor, which requires a third party for a nomination.

Digital Leadership may be the most interesting, asking what defines a “Digital Leader?” According to the award’s organizers, “The Digital Leader(ship) category recognizes individuals who have made a significant contribution to digital publishing, for example by successfully implementing a change-management program within their company as part of the digital transformation, or using analysis to level the digital playing field for the entire industry.”

Today, the publishing industry is seeing so much technological innovation and creative ideas to solve challenges, improve workflow, connect with readers, share information, and more. We encourage our readers to nominate those companies and people who they see making those big leaps into the future.

Again, the deadline for submissions is August 22.

A shortlist is expected on October 1, and the winners are to be announced onstage at Frankfurter Buchmesse on October 15 at 3 p.m.
