This week, the French nonprofit organization Fontaine O Livres announced the participants in the 2026 Le Tour d’Europe de l’édition indépendante (The Independent Publishing Tour of Europe). This year’s publishers include B42, Cinabre, Magenta, Pourpenser, Riveneuve, and Tango Girafe.

Supported by Fontaine O Livres, this program aims to promote independent publishing in Europe and the larger international marketplace by helping French-language publishers grow their international networks, increase visibility of their companies and books in the rights marketplace, and provide overall support to these publishers to improve their understanding of contracts, translation deals, among other topics.

Le Tour d’Europe de l’édition indépendante provides group training, individualized support, and facilitates participation in major international book fairs: the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, Paris Book Market, Babelica, and the Frankfurt Book Fair.

Created in 2023, the program has already demonstrated its impact through significant rights deals, contracts with agents, continued relationship-building and negotiations for future projects, and the integration of supported publishers into ongoing international projects.

Below is more information about this year’s participating publishers:

B42 — Publishing house whose catalog addresses the visual environment by combining the humanities, design, and typography.

Cinabre — Publishing house specializing in coffee table books devoted to the relationship between art and travel.

Magenta — Publishing house offering books devoted to youth well-being and parenting, designed to support families.

Pourpenser — Children’s literature publishing house publishing albums, comic books, and practical books focused on emotions.

Riveneuve — A publishing house specializing in French-language literature, publishing fiction and essays focusing in particular on exile, territories, and memories.

Tango Girafe — A publishing house dedicated to poetry and literature written by women from cultural backgrounds that are underrepresented in the literary world.

The Independent Publishing Tour of Europe is supported by the Île-de-France Region, as well as the DGMIC, the DRAC Île-de-France, and the CFC. The program is organized in partnership with France Livre.
