The 2025 TiBE Theme: ‘Reading Is Amazing!’
With its promising Guest of Honor Thailand program, and its capacity to draw enormous crowds, the 34th Taipei International Book Exhibition (TiBE, running February 3 to 8) shows particular promise with its “power of books” focus.
Blessed with one of the most attractive exhibition halls in the world of international book fairs and trade shows—the golden-railed balconies of the Taipei World Trade Center glow above the huge show floor—TiBE’s organizers have released a compelling set of figures for turnout in 2025:
- 570,000 attendees
- 1,450 stand units
- 29 participating countries
- 504 publishers
- 1,126 reading events
- 2,031 rights meetings
- 2,681 media reports
Guest of Honor Thailand in 2026

This year’s swanky Italian guest program was a hit in Taipei, as it was at Frankfurter Buchmesse. And The Netherlands brought a colorful guest of honor program to TiBE in 2024, featuring linked exhibitions and the author Thomas Olde Heuvelt, a favorite with fans.
Thailand’s participation is expected to generate even more energy, building on TiBE’s run of such substantial recent guest programs. The Thai publishing scene has more than 400 publishers in operation, and an annual market value of more than 13 billion baht (more than US$399.7 million).
Thailand’s book business is part of a culture driven by television drama, cuisine, fashion, and tourism, giving Thai aesthetics deep penetration among younger audiences across Taiwan and social-media platforms. Significantly, nearly 60 percent of Thai publications are translations, featuring works from English, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, and beyond—reflecting the industry’s openness and its active engagement in cross-cultural exchange.
As organizers are emphasizing, publishers looking to break into the Asian markets or to expand their international networks will find that TiBE is a place to be in February. Whether you’re planning to showcase your titles with a booth, hold rights meetings at TiBE Rights Center, or explore new connections, the Taipei International Book Exhibition offers tailored opportunities to help you make the most of your presence.
What’s more, all exhibitors gain access to the program’s digital exhibition platform, offering enhanced online visibility and extending exhibitors’ reach beyond the show floor.
